Condition

Overall in very good condition. The exterior surfaces present with faint scratches concentrated to the raised portions of the design, consistent with age and gentle handling and not visually distracting. The lower jaw of the serpent has been sensitively professionally restored, not visually distracting. The exterior of the frog with a few minor darker marks, possibly inherent to the production. The design above one of the water lilies with a dark mark measuring approximately 1/8 x 3/8 inch, inherent to the production and as visible in the catalogue illustration. The work has been examined under a blacklight and appears to have not undergone any visible restoration beyond the aforementioned repair. A poetic example of Zsolnay’s works with the firm’s signature eosin glaze.
